21 firefighters have been hospitalized after fighting a blaze that burned through an apartment building Saturday. None of the injuries are life-threatening, and all the firefighters are in stable condition.
The Fire Department was called at around 7 a.m. to a building on West 115th Street and found a fire on the first floor. Later the fire surged all the way to the six floor, Chief of Fire Operations Thomas Richardson told the Daily News.
Over 150 firefighters were called to the scene, and it took them about 2 1/2 hours to get the fire under control. The Cause of the fire hasn’t been determined yet and investigation is underway.
