Just 1 week before Former President Donald Trumps Senate Impeachment Trial it was known that several of his lawyers left after not agreeing on strategy. The former President has since announced that he has 2 new lawyers. Defense lawyer David Schoen, a frequent television legal commentator, and Bruce Castor, a former district attorney in Pennsylvania will represent him. Both Attorneys stated they were “honored” to take the job.
Originally Butch Bowers from South Carolina was supposed to lead his legal team, but that changed over the weekend due to differences over legal strategy.
Republicans and aides to Trump have made clear that the argument they they intend to make is “Trump’s trial, is unconstitutional because he is no longer in office.
The trial is scheduled for the week of February 8th.
