Johnson and Johnson Thursday submitted there vaccine for emergency approval. There vaccine is very different from many of the others already being used acroos the globe. With Johnson and Johnsons vaccine only one dose is necessary while many others need 2.
Just last week the pharmaceutical company released data showing there vaccine to be about 72% effective. If it gets approved it will be the third vaccine authorized in the U.S. coming after Pfizer and Moderna’s which have been approved since before January.
According to the company the vaccine is ready to begin shipping as soon as it gets authorized. Johnson & Johnson has previously said it expects to supply 100 million doses to the U.S. by June.
The effectiveness of the vaccine is slightly lower in other countries that have many cases of the new coronavirus variant.
