Dovid Haziza’s latest Single Matanot recently blew up on YouTube. The song was his 4th out to date and the music video already has over 100,000 views!
We asked Dovid to answer some questions, here’s how it went…
Jewish Hock: Growing up when did you know you were gonna be a singer?
Dovid: I started off in yeshiva boys choir for a bit was there for around a year and ever since then I wanted to start singing.
Jewish Hock: When you released Matanot did you expect the music video to get 100,000 views?
Dovid: I did not expect Matanot to hit 100,000 views. I didn’t think it was gonna go that far but it exceeded my expectations. I think that was because it was a great video, great scenery, great everything honestly.
Jewish Hock: Who’s one person that you look up to in Jewish Music?
Dovid: That’s a hard question – there’s plenty. I think Avraham fried is a good example, I think he just portrays himself as somebody who is very real.
Jewish Hock: What would you tell the many fans that want to know What goes into releasing a song.
Dovid: What goes into releasing a song is a loaded question. Definitely a lot of work from the production end, a lot of work getting the vocals layered, mix mastered all that stuff, making sure choir is right, making sure tuning is right making sure the vibe is just very comfortable.
Jewish Hock: Where can people listen to your latest song Matanot?
Dovid: It’s on YouTube, Spotify, Apple music, any music platform.
Jewish Hock: Anything else you’d like to share with Jewish Hock readers?
Dovid: Keep on hocking honestly, just keep Jewish music going – keep listening to it keep streaming it. As of now, I would say something a lot of people wouldn’t say, but there is definitely a smaller amount of people that listen to Jewish music than there used to be and those people should really keep listening – cause good things are coming out.
